HIATUS
Hi, Cupcakes! I just wanted to let everyone know that this blog will be closed for a while. University has become really tough and I haven't really got the time to keep up with the blog anymore. I will be back, most likely at the end of the semester.

My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
Author: Huntley Fitzpatrick
Publisher: Dial
Type: Hardcover
Pages: 304
Publication Date: June 14, 2012
Rating: 4 Stars
GoodReads | Barnes and Noble
The Garretts are everything the Reeds are not. Loud, numerous, messy, affectionate. And every day from her balcony perch, seventeen-year-old Samantha Reed wishes she was one of them. . . . until one summer evening, Jase Garrett climbs her terrace and changes everything.
As the two fall fiercely in love, Jase's family makes Samantha one of their own. Then in an instant, the bottom drops out of her world and she is suddenly faced with an impossible decision. Which perfect family will save her? Or is it time she saved herself?
The thing I liked about My Life Next Door is it embodied everything it set out to. It was all about summer, finding yourself, and falling in love. I love books that take place during the summer. I don’t live by the beach because, well I suck, and so reading about summer fun is my next best option. When I first started reading, I didn’t think I would even enjoy Samantha’s character. She seemed really bland and lost in her own story with no distinct voice—which looking back on it was kind of the point Fitzpatrick was trying to make on how Samantha fit into her world.
However, she changed my mind. The more I read, the more I found Samantha to be very sarcastic and real. Her personality really came out when in the presence of Jace and the Gallagher Family—who to be frank made the book for me. Their family dynamic and realness rubbed off on Samantha—and also made me want to become a part of their family. Samantha really started to bloom into her own person outside of being the daughter of a politician, a little sister, and best friend to one of the smartest girl’s in town.
Although I enjoyed this book, the one thing I didn’t like was how late the plot’s climax came so close to the very end—I’m talking three chapters before the book ended. I personally would have preferred for it to come earlier and maybe spear-head the book. I think it would have made a much harder impact on me as a reader if that were the main focal point from the very beginning. Because to be quite honest, it didn’t have a big impact on me like I think it would have if it were to come at the beginning of the book. Because of the late climax, it left a lot of issues unresolved in my eyes. Overall, My Life Next Door was an amazing book with a love story sweeter than a dozen cupcakes.

Follow Friday (007)
Feature and Follow is a blog hop that was started by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Each week a different question is posted by our hosts and we will answer! This is a great opportunity for bloggers to network and interact. This week’s question is:
Q: Activity! Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character looks like and what do you have in common?
I love these kinds of question. There is not a character per se that I think I will change with. I would probably be one of the girls from The Clique by Lisi Harrison. I have no idea why, but I have always considered those girls to be my spirit animals in some sort of way. It just seems like they would have so much fun together and non stop drama.
Also, follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr. I will most follow you back!

Waiting On Wednesday (005)
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly blog feature hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine which showcases future book releases that we may be eagerly anticipating. I have always loved finding new books to read. However, there is something about the anticipation that comes with knowing a book you have wanted to read for so long is moments away from hitting the shelves. This is what I am looking forward to this week:
Author: Katie McGarry
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Type: Hardcover
Pages: 304
Publication Date: May 28th 2013
GoodReads | Barnes and Noble
"I dare you..."
If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness. That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does....
Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.
But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....
WHY AM I WAITING? The question is more like why not? Ever since I finished reading Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry, I have been dying to get my hands on its continuation with Beth. I am not going ti lie. When I first read the blurb I was a bit disappointed because of how much I loved Isiah and Beth as side character in Pushing the Limits and their relationship with one another. However, I got over that pretty quickly and I decided that I still wanted to give this a chance because the plot is just too good to pass up.

Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.
At the moment, I would say Noah Hutchins from Pushing The Limits. I say him mostly because I just finished reading the book. Not only that but his character not only was incredibly hot. He was a decent guy as well. All I remember from the book was that he was hot with tattoos. Taylor Kitsch (who plays Tim Riggins in Friday Night Lights) is my go-to hot guy in books. Steven Strait also comes into mind, too:
